He was predeceased by: his parents, C. L. Scism and Nell Shytle Scism; and his sister Marie Sigmon. He is survived by: his wife Debra Jane Wagner Scism; his children, Timothy Scism (Jennifer) of Shelby, Chris Worley (Karen) of Conover and Wendy Auten of Mooresboro; his siblings, Forest Scism (Vickie) of Lawndale, Gale Elmore (Don) of Waco, Sheila Beam (Larry) of Lawndale and Madge Jones (Allen) of Mooresboro; his grandchildren, Krista Goins, Sydney Worley (Josh Rouse), Katie Huffstetler (Cody), Lauren Scism, Corban Worley, Braelynn Franklin, Oliver Secrest, Madison Lunceford and Kaila Roberts; and his great grandchildren, Oaklyn, Alana and Keylanna. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
