With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Catherine Wallace Denton (Lawndale, North Carolina), born in Cleveland, North Carolina, who passed away on June 24, 2018 at the age of 97. She was predeceased by: her parent Braxton Cleveland Wallace, Sr.; her husband Fred Williams Denton, Sr.; her daughter Carolyn Sigmon; and her siblings, Vernon Wallace, Van Wallace, Agnes Garver, Dorothy LaPorte and Janice Elmore.
She is survived by: her parent Nettie Lee Southards Wallace; her son Fred Denton, Jr.; her wife Brenda Denton of Asheville, NC; her daughter Linda Cornwell (Dickie) of Shelby; and also Melvin Denton (Gracie) of Concord, NC. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews.
