He was predeceased by: his parents, Filo Whitefield Tesseneer and Annie Bell Mellon Tesseneer; his wife Willie Mae Champion Tesseneer; his children, Richard Tesseneer and Sandra Rae Tesseneer; and his siblings, Rufus "Buck" Tesseneer, Essie White and Evelyn Morrison.
He is survived by: his daughters, Dianne Glover (Jerry) of Shelby, Judy Ann Brewer of Denver and Darlene Owens (Wayne) of Shelby; his daughter-in-law Bonnie Tesseneer of Shelby; and his grandchildren, Carl Glover (Samantha), Darrell Short, Eddie Short, Carroll Arnold, Dwayne Tesseneer (Tomeika), Tabitha Ann Bowen (Donnie), Mark Cummings, Leia Patterson, Nikki Owens and Tracy Owens (Tabitha). He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
