We are sad to announce that on October 5, 2024, at the age of 88, Barbara Jean Leigh (Lawndale, North Carolina), born in Newland, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Watts Benfield and Rachel Benfield; her former husband James Aldridge; her husband George Leigh; her daughter Sherri Garbo; her siblings, Virginia Brewer, Phillip, Richard, James, Wayne and Joe Benfield; her great grandchild Stone Murray; and her great great grandchild Liam Murray.
She is survived by: her children, James, Rick Aldridge, Karen Kendrick (Robby) and Kimberly White (Mark); her grandchildren, Courtney Aldridge, Shaun Smart, Sunshine Aldridge, Tiffany Edwards, Lee Emory, Jonathan Kendrick, Ashley Toney, Shannon Murray and Michael Stewart; her great grandchildren, Stevie Murray, Tinsley Moses, River Edwards, Reid Edwards, Everly Aldridge, Addie Yandle, Ty Yandle and Sarah Brack; and her great great grandchildren, Emory Murray, Christopher Murray, Laura Poppe and Zayden Poppe.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 8th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home (846 E Stage Coach Trail, Lawndale, NC 28090, USA 28042). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 9th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel (846 E Stage Coach Trail, Lawndale, NC 28090, USA 28042).
