With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Roland Wells Thorpe (Laurinburg, North Carolina), born in Conway, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 9, 2024 at the age of 68. He was predeceased by: his parents, Marcel Thorpe and Jeanette Imbriale; and his brother Devon Thorpe. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Clewis Thorpe; his son Roland W. Thorpe Jr.; his daughter-in-law Rachel Thorpe; his children, Marsha Thorpe Gilliland, Amanda Thorpe Mallory and Charles Thorpe; his grandchildren, KC Smith, Kenny Smith, Justin Thorpe, Victor Douglas, Letitia Mallory, Levi Mallory, Damian Douglas, Alana Douglas, Noah Thorpe and Madeline Thorpe; his siblings, Gayle Thorpe, Carol Lampman and Lewis Thorpe; and his sister-in-law Cynthia Thorpe.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 at 5:00 PM at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel (13640 Andrew Jackson Hwy, Laurinburg, NC 28352). Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location.
