He is survived by: his wife Carrole Strickland Rivers; his daughters, Davan Nicole Rivers (Robert) and Kiley Sierra Rivers (Buster Odom) of Bennettsville, SC; his siblings, Michael Rivers (Shirley) of Bennettsville, SC and Brenda Brooks (Tony) of Myrtle Beach, SC; his grandchildren, Emelia River-Loftin and Emmette Odom; and his close friends, Dennis and Ears. He is also survived by loving extended family and friends.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be given to the American Cancer Society Kidney Cancer Foundation to help others fighting kidney cancer.
