He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeromie Locklear and Margaret Lowery Locklear of Scotland County; his son Jerry Barton; and his siblings, Franklin Locklear, Jerry Locklear, Sarah Pearl Locklear, Joyce Lockler and Lewis J. Locklear.
He is survived by: his children, Josua Junior Locklear of Maxton, NC and Kelley Chavis of Pembroke, NC; his siblings, Rev. Furman Locklear (Tina) of Wagram, NC, Steve Locklear of Wagram, NC, Andrew Locklear (Jeannie) of West End, NC, Jonathan Locklear of Wagram, NC, Pandora Bullard of Maxton, NC, Dorcas Chavis (Harlen) of Maxton, NC, Grace Locklear of Gibson, NC and Kathy Locklear (Chris) of Marston, NC; his grandsons, Isaiah Chavis, Josiah Chavis and Kaleb Chavis of Paul; his great grandchild Rayliana Chavis of Pembroke, NC.; and his close friend Dorothy Danos. He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Little Mission Holiness Church (1510 S Main St, Laurinburg, NC 28352). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A committal service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Little Mission Holiness Church Cemetery (1510 S Main St, Laurinburg, NC 28352).
