He was predeceased by: his grandparents, William Jake and Margaret Kell Caudill. He is survived by: his parents, William Samuel "Bill" and Anne McLean Caudill; his siblings, Oban, Argyll, Scotland and Daniel MacQueen Caudill of Laurinburg; his grandparents, W. LeGette and Charlotte Baxley McLean of Laurinburg; his aunt Marie McLean Tracy (Jim) of Asheville, NC; and his cousins, Kate and Grace Tracy of Asheville.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Jane Graham McKay and Katherine Hill McKay Scholarship Endowment Fund, c/o Foundation for the Carolinas, 220 North Tyron Street, Charlotte, NC 28202 or UNCSA - School of Filmmaking, 1533 South Main Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27127-2738.
