With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gary Durant Johnson Sr. (Laurinburg, North Carolina), born in Lumberton, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 6, 2025 at the age of 71. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Johnson and Daisy Johnson; and his son Gary Johnson Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Burns Johnson; his daughters, Mindy Coles (Mike), Bobbie M. Johnson, Kimberly N. Johnson (Jonathan Barnes) and Jessica D. Johnson; his grandchildren, Victoria Cornwell (Shane), Abagail Willis, Madison Sanders (Justin), Tyler Faulk, Richard Oldham, Anakin House, River Johnson, Travis Hair, Colin Coles, Kayleb Coles and Avery Reames; his great grandchildren, Lainey Faulk of Layla Faulk, Layla Willis and Nashtyn Cornwell [Bubba]; his pets, JinJIn, Little Man, Trigger and Leia Bug; and his siblings, Ted Johnson (Betty) and Gina Wallace.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium (305 E Church St, Laurinburg, NC 28352). A memorial service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium Chapel (305 E Church St, Laurinburg, NC 28352).
