He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Marion Covil, Sr. and Hattie Evelyn Webb Covil; and his son Mark Shannon Covil, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Vera "Bebe" Covil; his daughters, Sarah E. Hollis (Gary) of Raleigh, NC and Kristi Lea Covil Poole (Jordan) of Raleigh, NC; his daughter-in-law Denise Covil of Hampstead, NC; and his brother Jerry Covil (Norma) of Wilmington, NC. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
The family requests memorial donations be given to the First Baptist Church of Laurinburg, Post Office Box 883, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
