He was predeceased by: his parent Chalmers Chavis, Sr.; his grandparents, Clarence and Margaret McPherson; and his sister Denise Wilson. He is survived by: his mother Betty McPherson Chavis Gibson of Laurinburg; his daughter Courtney C. Odom (Justin) of McColl, SC; his sister Deneane Smith (Alan) of Laurinburg; his grandsons, Braxton Odom and Easton Odom; his aunts, Dorothy Barnes and Shirley Locklear; and his close friend Sheila Miller. He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews.
