He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Guy and Bessie Jane Lowman Sheets; his wife Ruby Sheets; his siblings, Jack Sheets, Janice Woods and Eula Black; and his son-in-law Mark Taylor.
He is survived by: his children, Herbert Sheets (Doris) of Laurel Springs, Johnny Sheets (Georgia) of North Wilkesboro, Ricky Sheets (Janie) of Laurel Springs, Shirley McCoy of Laurel Springs, Linda Wyatt (Roger) of Piney Creek, Margie Hutchison (Cliff) of Traphill, Mary Wingler of Ferguson and Kay Taylor of Laurel Springs. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
