He is survived by: his children, Diane Norton (Larry) of Laurel Hill, James Chavis (Judy) of Laurinburg, Hurley Chavis, Jr. (Darlene) of Erma, NJ, Dannie Chavis (Cathy) of Laurel Hill and Leigh Jeffery (Ronald) of McColl, SC; his grandchildren, Larry Norton, Jr, Tasheta of Rocky Mount, Marcus Norton, Brittany Chavis of Greensboro, Kelton Chavis of Laurel Hill, Colby Chavis, Heather Easterling of Laurel Hill, Brittany Ryder, Michael of Massachusetts, Ashley Jeffery of Laurinburg and Ronald A. Jeffery of Laurinburg; and his siblings, Carson Chavis of Wake Forest, Lillian Guinn of Hamlet and Glennie Chavis (Richard) of Hamlet. He is also survived by nineteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
