He was predeceased by: his mother Earline Hewitt; his stepfather Mack Hewitt; and his brother Charles Chavis. He is survived by: his daughters, Michelle Wise (Guerry) and Christina Chavis (Tiffany Clyburn Chavis); his sisters, Geraldine Luther (Wiley), Mildred Doss (Mitchell), Darlene Beasley (Jimmy), Jean Chavis (Pops Tawney), Peggy Locklear and Joyce Goins (Daryl Barton); his grandson Dylan Wise; and his stepgrandchildren, Eric Clyburn and Kaden Clyburn. He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews.
