Tressie left this world on January 20, 2025 at the age of 95, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Harrison and Betty Elizabeth Osborne Mahaffey; her husband Russell Dean Darnell; and her siblings, Delmar Burl Mahaffey, Lillard Junior Mahaffey, Delray Widner, Irene Mahaffey, Virginia Dare Lyalls and Gladys Lousie Mahaffey.
She is survived by: her stepdaughter Judy Gregg (Walt) of Lewis; her siblings, Magdalene Mahaffey of Lansing, Thelma Campbell of Lenoir and Elmer Mahaffey (Betty) of Lansing; and her friends, Roy and Marie Wyatt of Pennsylvania. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Boone Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services (2005 Mt Jefferson Rd, West Jefferson, NC 28694). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
