He was predeceased by: his father Richard Joseph Wurth Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Sandra McDonough Wurth of Boone; his wife Karen Blevins Wurth; his daughter Jenny Wurth of West Jefferson; his sisters, Kathy Bennett (Terry) of West Jefferson and Sandy Starkman (Andrew) of New York; his grandsons, Samuel Wurth and Ethan Aloia; and his brother Dennis Eller. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
