She was predeceased by: her parents, David Lewis and Margaret Ham Lewis; her husband Arthur Edward Carpenter; her sons, Ricky Edward Carpenter and Bobby Gene Carpenter; and her grandson Derick Edward Carpenter.
She is survived by: her children, Sharon Huffman of Lansing and Bennie Carpenter of Lansing. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild on the way and several nieces and nephews.
