He is survived by: his wife Ye Gonda Mitchell; his sons, Matthew Mitchell (Eileen) of South Dakota and Shawn Benefield (Crystal) of South Carolina; and his stepchildren, Vivkie Perry Cooper of Creston and Lacey Perry (Niomia) of Creston. He is also survived by three grandsons, 4 step grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
