He was predeceased by: his parents, James Miller and Lora Powers Miller; and his siblings, Bobby, Arlie, Avery, Arnold, James Miller and Arlene Stansberry.

He is survived by: his great grandchild Dawson; his wife Bobbie Brinegar Miller; his children, Jeff Miller (Joan Blevins) of Warrensville, Tony Miller (Tina) of Cary and Angela Miller Bates of Swansboro; his siblings, Guy Miller of Crumpler, Tom Miller of Jefferson, Edith Johnson and Betty Kerr of Crumpler; his grandson Justin Miller (Allissa); and his great grandchildren, Caroline and Autumn Miller.
