He was predeceased by: his parents, William Floyd Key and Mary Jane Roberts Key; and his siblings, Oliver Key, Paul Key, Artie Wyatt, Martha Brewer, Linda Oliver, Sue Hart, Bob Key and Jerry Lee Key.
He is survived by: his sons, Eddie Key (Cindy) and Eric Key (Marsha); his close friend Mary Donaldson; his siblings, Homer Key, Gary Key and Betty Thomas; and his grandchildren, Amanda Bost (Adam), Kendra Acosta (Matthew), Matthew Key, Andrew Key, Jacob Key and Jordan Key.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Whitley's Funeral Home (1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd, Kannapolis, NC 28083). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the West Lawn Memorial Park (1350 S Main St, China Grove, NC 28023).
