He was predeceased by: his parents, JT Godbold and Annie Jane Godbold; and his siblings, Charles Hugh Godbold, Ralph Alan Godbold and Wanda Godbold Carpenter.
He is survived by: his wife Julia Hair Godbold; his brother Larry Neal Godbold (Charotte); and his siblings-in-law, Terry Carpenter and Dianne Bledsole Godbold. He is also survived by seven nieces, two nephews; and his great niece and nephew.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Sudan Shriners Temple for the Crippled Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 12829 New Bern, NC 28561, in Thomas' honor.
