He is survived by: his children, James Elton Batten of Chadbourn, Kenneth Carl Batten (Pam) of Chadbourn, Gregory Lee Batten (Jackie) of Chadbourn and Glenda Gail Batten (Jeffrey) of Chadbourn; and his siblings, Brenda Blackwell of Thomasville, Earlene Stewart of Chadbourn, Dale Batten of Chadbourn, Betsy Strickland (Jeffery) of High Point, Carolyn Bennett Winston Salem, Diane Thompson of Bladenboro and Eugene Batten (Patricia) of Chadbourn. He is also survived by 13 Grandchildren, and 16 Great-Grandchildren.
