He is survived by: his wife Virginia Ruth Hilbourn Hayes; his daughters, Ruth Ann Hayes, Melissa Deanne Hayes Godwin (Kenneth Lewis) of Cerro Gordo and Jennifer Lynn Hayes Strickland (Jimmy Delane) of Cerro Gordo; his grandchildren, James Allen George Godwin, Chloe Layne Strickland and Hannah Grace Strickland; and his great grandchild John Daniel Godwin.
