She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Banther and Rhoda Banther (Clark); her siblings, Edith "Dee Dee" Owen, Sue Fowler, Elsie Owen, Charlie Banther and Della Inman; her former husband Kenneth Banther; and her son Joseph Banther.
She is survived by: her sister Ella Faye Smith (Hugh); her children, Michael Banther, Russell Banther, Bryan Kelly Banther and Freda Dias (André); and her grandchildren, Caleb Dias, Joshua Dias and Sara Dias. She is also survived by her children and grandchildren.
While the family welcomes flowers, or donations to Four Seasons Hospice (211 N. Main Street, Hendersonville, NC 28792 or FourSeasonsFDN.org), perhaps the best way to honor Ruth's memory is to love others, even when it's hard and there is little recognition to be gained.
