It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Jane Melton of Lake Lure, North Carolina, who passed away on January 25, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ira Noblitt and Daisy Robertson Noblitt; her husband Glenn Bobby Melton; and her brothers, Henry Coleman Noblitt, Wilburn Curtis McDaniel, Benjamin Franklin McDaniel and William Marshall "Mac" McDaniel.
She is survived by: her son Rick Melton of Lake Lure; her daughter-in-law Rebecca Melton of Mill Spring; her granddaughters, Grace Melton Waters (Michael) of Bostic and Caroline Melton of Forest City; her great grandchild Charlotte Waters of Bostic; her cousins, Beverly Heffner (Kenny) of Rutherfordton, Alice Leming of Rutherfordton and Tammy Heffner (Tony) of Rutherfordton; her nieces and nephews, Janice McDaniel Wallace (Glenn) of Campobello, Stephanie Noblitt Galvin (Mark) of Atlanta, Bobby Tessnear of Marion and Troy Tessnear of Marion; and her cousin Christine "Crick" Raderstorf (Dave) of Atlanta. She is also survived by many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
