It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Doggett of Lake Lure, North Carolina, born in Shelby, North Carolina, who passed away on March 1, 2023, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Wade Doggett and Betty Doggett (Brown); his uncle Joseph Brown; his aunt Jennifer Brown Owens (Jerry); and his cousin Robert Alan Doggett (Carol).

He is survived by: his sister Laine Doggett (Douglas Nichols) of Leonardtown; his uncle Charles Brown (Patti) of Columbus, NC; and his aunt Phyllis Brown of Spartanburg, SC.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pets are Worth Saving (PAWS) of Rutherford County, the Norris Public Library of Rutherfordton or the Hickory Nut Gorge Foundation of Lake Lure.
