He was predeceased by: his former wife Janet Riggle; and his parents, Mel Wilson and Daisy Wilson (Holler). He is survived by: his wife Dr. Patricia Wolman; his children, Marion (John McMurria), Melford (Jennifer) and John (Liz); his brother Dr. John D. Wilson; and his grandchildren, Brooks, Luke, Lytle, Miller, Grace, Lee, Harry, Maggie, Barry, Davis and Eliza.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Memorial Chapel (91 N Lakeshore Dr, Lake Junaluska, NC 28745).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Melford A. Wilson, Jr. International Endowment Scholarship at Winthrop University to fund students studying abroad.
