He was predeceased by: his parents, William Harvey Britt and Julia Wiggins Britt. He is survived by: his significant other Lynn Lancaster Britt; his children, Joseph Michael Britt (Anne) of Greensboro, Jonathan Neil Britt (Stacy) of Grifton and Jaime Britt Cox (Jason) of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Adra Britt, Jenna Cox, Kayla Britt, Leah Britt, Julia Cox, Nathan Britt and Sally Ann Mitchell; his brother Robert Bruton Britt (Peggy) of Apex; his mother-in-law Doris Tyndall Lancaster of Pikeville; and his siblings-in-law, Mike, Gail Lancaster of Goldsboro, Rhet and Robin Potter of Pikeville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in William's memory to Garris Chapel Church or Helping Hands Assisted Living.
