She was predeceased by: her parents, George Gray and Elitha Beamon Gray; her husband Harry Edson Tart; and her siblings, Evelyn Pollock and George "Bo" Gray.
She is survived by: her children, T. LaVan Shoemaker, Jr. (Gail) and Beverly Shoemaker Gurganus (Ted); her grandchildren, Nijmegan Webb (Christopher), Brookes Walker (Lindsey), Nikki Parsons (D. J.) and Trey Gurganus; her great grandchildren, Ethan, Luca, Kinley, Sawyer, Braxton and Ryker; her brother Lester "Skeet" Gray; and her former husband Ted LaVan Shoemaker, Sr. (Carolyn). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
