He was predeceased by: his parents, Annias Sutton and Gracey Edwards-Sutton; his brothers, Elijah Sutton and Hubert Sutton; and his brothers-in-law, James Ruffin and Claude Suggs.
He is survived by: his son Ray Allen Darden (Ida) of Jersey City; his siblings, Verna S. Ruffin of La Grange, Clara Suggs of La Grange, Jean Waters (Nathaniel) of La Grange, James Sutton (Irene) of La Grange and Harold Sutton (Dorothy) of Roper; and his grandchildren, Angela, Andre, Anthony, Arlene and Allen Ray. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
