She was predeceased by: her parents, William Calvin and Gladys Inez Herring Carter; her brother John William Carter; and her nephew Little John Carter (Renee Pate). She is survived by: her husband Samuel Thomas Patterson; her children, Don Pate (Sabrina), Tom Patterson (Laurie), Melanie Patterson (Jeff) and Mona Stewart (Sean); her grandchildren, Brent Pate, Lauren Shoemaker (Jeff), Kaitlyn Pfuhl (Christian), Ryan Stewart (Cameron), Kerri Stewart and Kasey Sawhney (Vinamra); her great grandchildren, Beckett, Henry, Logan and Pippa; and her friends, Barbara Shepard and Deborah Duff.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rouse Funeral Home (108 N Caswell St, La Grange, NC 28551). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
