She was predeceased by: her father Ellis Jones, Sr.; her husband James Allen Sutton Sr.; and her brothers, Ellis Jones, Jr., Harvey Carter Jones and Milton Forrest Jones.
She is survived by: her children, Jamison S Griffin (Lindsey), Jan S Measley (Luby) and James Allen Sutton Jr. (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Allen Heath Sutton (Caroline Casey) and Olivia Evelyn Sutton; her stepgrandchildren, Brianna Griffin Gee (George) and Kelly Griffin Smith (Kevin); and her sisters-in-law, Annie Laura Casey, Linda S Foss (Jimmy Carr), Jackie Price and Frankie Jones. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and 7 step great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center with 3HC or to the Gideon's (Joyce always donated a Bible in memory of loved ones).
