He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Lanning and Helen Garner Lanning; and his siblings, Wayne Lanning and Donna Quinn. He is survived by: his wife Donna Boles Lanning; his children, Russell Lanning (Pam) and Ann Hill (Charles); his grandchildren, Samantha Lanning, Jamie Palmer, Bryce Lanning, Kristen Romanoski (Nick), Patrick Lanning (Anna), Robert Hill, Joshua Hill and Johnny Hill; and his great grandchildren, Jackson Palmer and Clara Lanning.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Community Baptist Church, 501 S. Charles Street, La Grange, NC 28551.
