He is survived by: his wife Connie Johnson Smith; his sons, Samuel Eric Smith and Benjamin Preston Smith (Hannah); his sister Phyllis Smith (Darius); his niece Leslie Hunter (Paul); his nephew William D. Smith; his great-niece Kate; his great-nephew Davis; and his pets, Billy Jack and Zeb.
