He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Edgar Rodwell Sr. and Mamie Shearin Rodwell; his wife Lillie Rae Smith Rodwell; and his siblings, Hazel R. Jones, Janet R. Burt, Edith R. Finch, Joseph J. Rodwell, Hugh Edgar Rodwell, Jr., William B. Rodwell, Wallace S. Rodwell and Thomas P. Rodwell.
He is survived by: his children, Kelly Rodwell Townson (Tom), Coleman Rodwell (Donna) and Chris Rodwell (Susan); his grandchildren, Jacob Townson, Daniel Townson (Angy), Kate T. Bunn (Bryan Bunn), Dr. Morgan Rodwell Arocho (Ben) and Zac Rodwell (Lindsay); his brother Jerome "Jerry" T. Rodwell; and his siblings-in-law, Nell Smith, Lou Ella Vause and Billy Smith. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
