He was predeceased by: his father Roy Wampler; his former wife Barbara; his children, David Wampler Jr. and Deborah Gerhart; and his sister Nancy.
He is survived by: his son Jeffery Wampler of Carolina Beach; his fiancé Donnie Rehder; and his grandchildren, John, Jessica, Joel and Tara. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren.
