He was predeceased by: his father Luther Clifford Barnette; and his granddaughter Jade Barefoot. He is survived by: his wife Becky; his daughters, Rhonda Barnette Early (Troy) of Knightdale and Renee Barnette Barefoot (Reece) of Midlothian, VA; his grandchildren, Chelsey Early Thompson (Mitchell), Ty Early (Morgan), Zach Barefoot and Sydney Barefoot; and his sister Viva Dean Barnette Faught of Greensboro, AL..

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Green Pines Baptist Church Benevolence Fund, 1498 Hodge Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 or Waycross Bible Methodist Church in Perry County, AL.
