He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Odas Talley, Sr. and Martha Frances Barker Talley; his wife Doris Knott Talley; his son-in-law John Holley; and his siblings, Charles Odas Talley, Jr., Constantine Barker Talley, William Bryan Talley, Mary Edith Talley, Maude Talley of Virginia, Ola Frances Talley and Martha Lynn Talley.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Laverne Talley, Jr. (Jennifer) of Wake Forest, Charles William Talley II of Knightdale, John Michael Talley (Jill) of Rolesville, Richard Thomas Talley (DeAnne) of Knightdale and Dorothy Talley Holley of Raleigh; and his sister Ruth Elaine Talley Shope of Greensboro. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
