He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Sampson "BJ"; and his parents, Herman Arthur Sampson II and O'nell Bartley Sampson. He is survived by: his children, Lisa Rhew, Michelle Bowen (Travis), Andrea Wheeler (Donnie) and Zachary Sampson; his grandchildren, Caleb Rhew (Liz), Chase Bowen, Cameron Sampson, Cole Wheeler, Abby Sampson, Logan Wheeler, Cassidy Wheeler and Lainey Sampson; and his siblings, Richard Sampson and Patricia Sampson (Ron). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory (944 Old Knight Rd, Knightdale, NC 27545). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Faith Baptist Church (2728 Marks Creek Rd, Knightdale, NC 27545).
