He was predeceased by: his parents, George Pearl Brown and Easter Dixon; his wife Mary Sholar Brown; and his siblings, Myrtle B. Fields, David Brown, George Brown, Harry Brown, Vernon Brown and Ray Sidney "Tinker" Brown.
He is survived by: his children, James Allen Brown (Shelby) of Wake Forest and Wanda Brown Mattingly (Gary) of Siler City; and his grandchildren, Joshua Brian Mattingly (Beka), Kristen Hope Phillips (Brett Lee), Heather Lauren Townsend (Chris) and Steven Tyler Brown (Shyanne). He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.
