He was predeceased by: his parents, H. L. Hamilton and Bea Hamilton; his nephew Jim Swertfeger; his brother-in-law Bailey Swertfeger; his grandson Cooper Hamilton; and his stepdaughter Hannah Bancroft.
He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Hamilton; his son Matthew Hamilton (Kristy); his sisters, Ann Swertfeger and Sylvia Vance (Charlie); his grandsons, Davis and Blaine Hamilton; his stepchildren, Sarah Petersen (Scott) and Patrick Purvis; and his stepgrandchildren, Mary, Scottie Petersen and Caleb Purvis.
