She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Girvin and Myrtle Girvin of Jamesville, NC.; her husband Ben Roughton; her children, Ben Jr. and Benita Sneed; and her siblings, Dick Girvin, Jim Girvin, Pat McCombs, Alice Hardison and Helen Gornto.
She is survived by: her caregiver Bennie Roughton; her children, Sidney Roughton (Linda) and Lola Hilton (Kitty Hawk); her son-in-law Claude Sneed (Chesapeake); her granddaughter Cynthia Blackwell; her great grandchildren, Olivier and Jean-Michel Severin; her grandson Frankie Sneed; her great grandchildren, Isis and Echo Sneed; her grandson Brian Roughton; her great grandchild Brittany; her grandsons, Troy and Jeffrey Roughton; her brother-in-law Ernest Hardison of Plymouth, NC; and her grandsons, David Hilton (Amy), Michael Hilton (Linda), Patrick Hilton (Mary Helen), Colin and Casey Hilton. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
