He was predeceased by: his parent Robert Charles Ellis, Sr.; his son Robert Charles "Bobby" Ellis, III; and his grandson Robert Charles Ellis, IV. He is survived by: his parent Ruth Gardner Ellis; his wife Ellen Carole Kerley Ellis; his daughter Catherine "Cathy" Willis (Ian) of Kittrell; and his brother Stephen Ellis of Salisbury.
