He was predeceased by: his parents, John Cheatham and Nellie Smith Cheatham; and his wife Annie Greene Cheatham. He is survived by: his children, Melinda White (Maurice) of Kittrell, Stephone Rushing (Karen) of Franklinton and Melvin Rushing of Louisburg; his brother Gaston Cheatham of Maryland; and his godsons, Joseph Williams of Florida and Clarence Brownson of Kittrell. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
