He is survived by: his spouse Adorthine Pettiford; his children, John Pettiford of Cary, NC, Joseph Pettiford (Teresa) of Butner, NC and Rose Marie Mobley (Donnie) of Charlotte, NC.; his brother-in-law Horlest Crews; his stepbrother William A. Hart; his son Charlie; and his siblings, Mary Magdalene, George Mae and Lucy Mae. He is also survived by four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
