With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edith Grissom Shelden of Kittrell, North Carolina, who passed away on September 3, 2023 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Wade and Effie Glenn Grissom of Kittrell, NC.; her husband Colonel Robert E. H. Shelden; her son Hugh Winfield Shelden, II; and her sisters, Janie Grissom, Connie McLeod and Beth Bussey.

She is survived by: her sister Rachel Grissom; her sons, Charles Edwin Shelden (Kathy) and Jeffrey Glenn Shelden (Elaine); her grandchildren, Sarah Shelden and Matthew Shelden; and her stepgrandsons, Nathan and Scott Fisher.
