He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Sherman Brantley and Mary Shearin Brantley; his wife Christine Small Brantley; his brothers, Robert Brantley (Vonnie) and Bryan Brantley (Janice); and his grandson Michael Paul Heath.
He is survived by: his children, Wilma B. Heath (Billy) of Vanceboro, W. Ray Brantley, Jr. (Phuong Tran) of Raleigh, David Warren Brantley (Deena) of McKinney and Sherman Wade Brantley (Bonnie) of McKinney, Texas; his grandchildren, William Curtis "Frank" Heath, III, Santanna B. Piner, Peyton Brantley, Alyssa, Alexa Brantley, Amber Grace Brantley and Coyote Brantley (Riot); his stepgrandchildren, Mason Still, Alexander Still and Ashley Still; and his great grandchildren, Nash and Lauren Heath.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Christian Church, 364 Vine Swamp Road, Kinston, NC 28504.
