She was predeceased by: her husband Clarence C. "Bud" Hale; and her parents, Roy Lyon and Joy Smith Lyon. She is survived by: her sons, Jeff Hale (Nancy) and Pat Hale (Donna); her grandchildren, Kara Hale, Mark Hale (Charlotte, Joseph Hale), Patrick Hale (Brittany) and Kevin Hale (Shalin); her great grandchildren, Mason, Emilia and Laurel Hale; and her half-siblings, Gayle Lyon and Chesley Lyon.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, PO Box 5274, Kinston, NC 28503.
