It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Susan Tilghman of Kinston, North Carolina, who passed away on March 12, 2025, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Ella Dawson Stanley; and her sister Joanne Dawson Carter. She is survived by: her husband David Tilghman Jr.; her daughter Kristie Day; her granddaughter Aubriella Day; and her siblings, Brenda Jones (Jimmy) of Havelock, Shelby Tilghman of Goldsboro, Chris Davis of LaGrange and Dianne Price (Billy) of Pink Hill. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM at the Edwards Funeral Home & Cremations (702 N Queen St, Kinston, NC 28501). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
