He is survived by: his children, Lakenia Suggs of Kinston and Sherrod Suggs, Jr. of Kinston; his grandchildren, Millicent Locust and Milick Suggs; and his siblings, Steven Hooks of Kinston, Lesia Goodson (Robin) of Cambridge, Tanya Yearwood of Kinston, Audrey Suggs-Chamblee (Lewis) of Kinston, Kristal Suggs of Kinston and Nina Thomas (Allen) of Kinston. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lenston Whitfield Sr. Memorial Chapel. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Sand Hill FWB Church (3181 Neuse Rd, Kinston, NC 28501). The military honors will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at the same location.
